What is Vedic Astrology?
Vedic astrology (Jyotish) is the traditional Hindu system of astrology that uses the sidereal zodiac — which accounts for the actual position of constellations in the sky. Unlike Western tropical astrology, Vedic positions are shifted by approximately 24 degrees (the Ayanamsa).
This means your Vedic Sun sign may differ from your Western Sun sign. For example, someone who is an Aries in Western astrology may be a Pisces in Vedic astrology.
